Comments about Cat Tracks:
I've faithfully used Cat Tracks for years. I can't understand why everyone doesn't use these. The huge improvement in walking traction is well worth the cost and time needed to put them on before heading to the lodge. (Ever seen someone slip and fall in a tile-floored cafeteria with a full tray of food? - Not pretty)
Comments about Cat Tracks:
I bought a pair of these when I bought my boots, two years ago. The boots, Salomon Falcon 10, have no replaceable heel and toe plates, so these were just the thing I needed to protect the boots' soles. They have a very good grip on any kind of surface and they make walking very easy. After two seasons they did not wear much, the material they are made of seems pretty durable.
It is true that they fit easily in your pocket, but if you have one of those retractors locks, you can lock them on one of the ski racks at the base of the slopes.
Comments about Cat Tracks:
Take it from someone who just had to send an expensive pair of ski boots into early retirement: If you own ski boots, you would be foolish not to have cat tracks. If the bottoms of your boots are worn, the connection with your bindings will be compromised. The toe and heel plates on the bottom of your ski boots are supposed to be replaceable, but when the manufacturer changes the designs, you are out of luck. Cat Tracks protect the bottom of your boot from wearing down when you walk on pavement and they make it easier to walk through snow. When not in use, they fit easily into your jacket pocket (you will need pocket space). My only problem with this product is that my boots are on the larger side of the range for my size of Cat Tracks, so they are a little bit difficult to get on the boot. But it still just takes a minute or two - time well spent in protecting your boot investment.
